The breakdown's window opens until the run is over, and Casting goes in order

Close the breakdown's progress window, or open the project in another tab, and Show progress brings it back for as long as the run goes on; approving the screenplay in the Producer's window is one press, and the estimate reads the film's length off the screenplay. In Casting the appearance is written from the screenplay, and the camera test follows it in order.

ImprovedCastingCasting goes in order: appearance, headshots, full length. Design appearance has the Casting Director write the age, build, hair, eyes and visual identity from the screenplay; Redesign appearance writes them again. Until then the fields are empty — they used to show a made-up 30s · average · dark brown · brown, which Casting then held against the screenplay as if it were the casting's own word. The headshots wait for the appearance, and the full length for the headshots: press Design character set or Design full length set too early and nothing is sent — the window scrolls to the step that is missing, lights it, and says what it waits for.
ImprovedBreakdownThe film's length comes from the screenplay. The breakdown's estimate no longer asks you to pick how many pages the script has — it reads them, and its title says so — and the target duration is proposed from them, about a minute a page, instead of opening on 00:30. A length you typed when you made the project, or confirmed on the estimate before, stays as it was.
FixedBreakdownA breakdown already read is not offered again. Opening a production again from the address it first opened on — a reload, a reopened tab, the browser's history — put the breakdown's estimate and Start breakdown back on screen over scenes long since read. The estimate is asked once now, and never over a screenplay already read.
FixedBreakdownThe breakdown's window opens until the run is over. Once the scenes were read, the run still had the first scene's shot list to write — yet First steps already called the breakdown done and offered the approval instead, so a window closed then could not be opened again, here or in another tab. Now Scene breakdown stays on the run until its last stage is written, with Show progress beside it, and the Next step bar offers Show progress too while the run goes on.
FixedPre-productionPrep waits for the breakdown. Full Pre-Production pressed while the crew was still reading the screenplay used to start anyway, fail every scene at once — Needs the scene breakdown first — and leave scene 1 marked did not pass long after the breakdown finished. Now it says the breakdown is still being read and opens its progress, and the studio refuses such a run before it begins.
FixedPre-productionA scene is not failed for the production's reasons. When a whole prep run stopped — the breakdown still being read, the screenplay not validated, no credit, no key — the scene it stopped on stayed named did not pass for a week, with Prep scene again, long after the cause had gone. The stop is said when it happens; the scene simply waits to be prepped.
FixedBreakdownFirst steps counts the screenplay's characters. The Scene breakdown step said 0 characters until someone was cast, though the breakdown had read six; it counted cast profiles, not the people in the screenplay. It now says how many characters the breakdown found.
NewEditorA window's tabs carry the timeline's marks. What the timeline marks red — a render that failed, a gate, a blocker on a department — is now red on the tab of the window where it is dealt with, with why on hover: the Producer's Validation while the screenplay holds prep, the Director's Scene breakdown, the Shot generator's Storyboard, Final frame and Video, the DoP's Camera and Light, the Gaffer's scene and the Storyboard's Sheets. A scene missing its brief marks the Director's Briefs in amber, as the scene strip does.
ImprovedEditorDesign frames. The Next step bar's button for designing and approving shots, and its twin in First steps and the empty Bin, now says what it does — Design frames opens the next shot's window — instead of Design final frame, the name of the button inside the window that makes one.
ImprovedPre-productionFull Pre-Production takes you to what holds it. Until the screenplay is approved, Full Pre-Production, Prep next scene and Prep the Scene no longer sit greyed out: pressed, they open the Producer's Validation tab on the decision, its Approve lit.
ImprovedProducerApproving the screenplay is one press. The creative checklist is gone from the Producer's Validation tab, and a screenplay waiting on you opens on Approve — the button that records it is on screen at once, where it used to read Choose a decision until a choice was ticked. Revise and Waive are a click away, recorded with your name as before.
