A shot is as long as the video in it

Drop a clip on a shot and the reel takes its length from the footage. And the reel's clock stops losing seconds to the gaps between cards, so a bound video plays to its last frame instead of stopping short of it.

FixedTimelineEvery bound video was being cut off. The reel reads width as time, and the breathing room between cards was subtracted from that width — so a scene lost close to five seconds however short it was, and its shots played for a fraction of their footage. On the tightest scenes that was more than half the clip. The gap is now drawn rather than deducted: it costs the picture two pixels and the reel nothing.
NewTimelineA video you drop on a shot sets that shot's length. While a shot is only planned the Camera's estimate is the best number there is; the moment there is real footage, the cut runs exactly as long as what is in it, and the reel re-times itself around it. Take the clip off and the planned duration comes back — the estimate was never overwritten.
ImprovedTimelineThe playhead sits where it says it does. It was drawn against the reel's clock while the cards were nudged aside by their gaps, so the line and the shot it was over drifted apart across a long reel.
FixedCrew chatA long conversation no longer freezes the tab while the crew is answering. Every word that arrived redrew the entire conversation above it, so the longer a meeting ran the more work each word cost — a room several answers deep could take the window with it. The answer is now redrawn once per frame, and only the part that is actually changing.
ImprovedCrew chatYou can scroll up and read what was said earlier while an answer is still coming in. The thread follows the newest line only while you are at the bottom of it, and picks the thread back up when you return there.
