Where the production stands, and Messages

Every production now says which phase it is in, what is blocking it and what each shot has reached, and a take is approved by a person, not by being rendered. Props, costume, makeup, light and sound have their own lanes on the timeline. Messages lets people in a studio write to each other, with the crew at the table.

NewStudioThe phase in every header. A production says where it stands — Development › Breakdown › Pre-production › Production › Post › Delivery — under its name in the Edit Suite, on its card in Productions and in the Studio. It moves by itself as the work gets done; it is no longer picked by hand. Click a phase to open Workflow, a new screen that lists every phase's gates and what is still open in each. A gate can be waived, with a reason.
NewEditorA departments navigator on the left of the Edit Suite: the scene breakdown and every scene with its step, then every department with how far it has got, its blockers and what has gone stale. A row opens its window. Selecting a scene narrows the navigator, the Bin and the timeline to it; All scenes widens them back.
NewEditorBlockers. ⛔ in the top bar counts what is in the way. The panel lists every blocker by department — what blocks, whose it is, what it stops, since when — and each one has a button that goes to fix it: open the window, retry, accept as is, or waive with a reason.
ImprovedShotsOne word per shot: Planned, Briefed, Taken, Approved or In cut, plus Blocked or Stale. It reads the same on the Shots track, in the shot list and in the Shot inspector. READY is gone from the timeline's lanes; each lane says how far its department has got.
NewShotsDecisions on takes. The Shot inspector has a Decision panel beside the takes: Approve, Revise, Reject or Accept as is, each with a reason, made by whoever holds that seat. A render no longer makes itself the Select. The cut plays the approved take; if none is approved, the Select you circled; if there is none, the newest take.
NewDirectorA run plan before anything runs. Full Pre-Production and Re-prep first show what will run, what will go stale, what it costs and whose key pays. The Director's Run scene is now Preview pipeline, and it says that it runs nothing.
NewDirectorCancel stops the scene being prepped within a few seconds, so it stops costing money. Stop after this one still lets that scene finish. Stop prep in the Director's window works the same way as Cancel.
NewCrew chatCrew advice comes as a task. When the crew finds something in the way, it posts a card: what to do, what that makes possible, what it needs, the estimate, and a button that starts it.
NewStudioFirst steps. A new production opens on six steps, from the screenplay to the cut. Each step is ticked when its work is actually done, and the next step has its own button. File → First steps… brings the list back.
ImprovedSharingCan view shows only the buttons you can use. Every window follows one rule: without the right, there is no button; with the right but a condition not met, the button is disabled and says why. Only a production's owner can delete it, and the dialog says what will be deleted.
ImprovedStudioProduction → Sequence → Take. A sequence keeps the production's format unless it is given its own. The transport bar names any clip that came out in a different frame. New productions start at 16:9.
FixedRenderThe generator stays inside the production it was opened from. Other productions' takes show only with All productions switched on. Prices name the aggregator that charges them, and Costs shows each production's spend and whose key paid.
ImprovedStudioThe stage codes A1–A6 are gone from the screens and from the crew's replies. Each thing now has one name, the same everywhere.
NewTimelineProps, costume, makeup, light and sound have lanes on the timeline. Props get a lane per item, grouped Hero · Featured · Background. Costume and Makeup get a lane per person, and each block names the look. Lighting and a new Sound department get a block per scene. A block opens its window on that scene, person or prop, so the windows no longer carry lists of their own to click through.
NewTimelineHover a block for a glance. Rest the pointer on a block and a small picture of what its window holds appears: the frame the monitor would show there, the location plan, the board panel, a person's portrait, a few of the props.
NewMessagesMessages. Write to anyone you share a workspace or a production with, one to one or in a group. You can seat a production's crew at the table; they answer when someone calls them by @name or @all. The button with the unread count in every header opens the chat over the screen you are on, the Edit Suite included. Each production's crew rooms are there too.
NewPlatformClaude outside the studio (for studio staff): connect Claude Code to the studio with an API key from your profile. It can read your productions — screenplay, breakdown, shot list, briefs, the departments' work and rendered frames — and it changes nothing.
FixedSiteThe home page, the deck, the release page, sign-in and sign-up now promise only what the studio does for a new production. They show the crew a production starts with. The plans list no features the studio has not decided on, and the logos, testimonial and figures we could not stand behind are gone.
